2) Spend more time on keyword research. OK you can ignore this if you do a really good job at keyword research but if not pay attention. Keyword research is vitally important to your online business. I use the free Google keywords tool and the Google search based keyword tool. Both are excellent free tools. You need to build a big portfolio of keywords and focus on them from the top down. Not doing this is leaving money on the table and not getting the biggest return on your investment.

3) Build a list. Building a list has been cited as one of the most profitable assets to have. Think about it, with a list your are getting your message to potential customers every time you send an email. Your subscribers have opted in to your newsletter because they want what you have to offer. Building a list is easy and low cost. It can be set up on your website in as little as a few hours and after that harvest email addresses on autopilot. Building a list is counted by many professional marketers as their top Internet business income.

4) Promote to your market. Yes this may sound simple but many people are not doing it correctly. Think about this for a minute; is it better to have your link shown to 1,000,000 people with no interest in your product or 100 that want to buy your product? Making small posts in forums and comments on blogs can seem like useless time wasting tasks, but if you make sales from these posts it certainly is worth your while. Many people focus solely on social bookmarking and submitting their URL to directories when a link on a page with low traffic but high interest would be a lot better.

5) Find something that works and run with it. I am always asked question by marketers as to why only one of their sites is making sales regardless of how much promotion they put into the nonperforming one. My response is always the same, Dump it. Focus your attention on where you are making money and build on that.
