How to start a online business with no budget in 4 steps!
I often have people coming to me asking the question of how to start a business online and if it's possible with no budget. My reply to them is that it is possible but it just requires more work than if you have some capital to help you get started. As I seem to have answered that question countless times in the last few months I have decided to write up this easy to follow guide to starting a business online with no investment needed. I can assure you that anyone who follows this guide will start to make money in a relatively short time.
1) Product and market.
The first thing you need to do when wondering how to start a online business is to research the market and choose the product you wish to promote. This is not as easy at it sounds though as there are literally millions of products to promote and every affiliate merchant is different. Firstly you will have to decide if you want to sell a physical or digital product. Physical products have the advantage that they are easier to sell as people generally know what they want to buy, on the flip side the commission on physical products is generally lower than that of digital products. Some good place places to start looking for products to promote are http://www.clickbank.com and http://www.cj.com. Try to choose a product that is selling well but does not have too much affiliate competition.
2) Homepage or squeeze page.
Your squeeze page is going to be your website where you will entice prospective buyers to buy the product. Squeeze pages can be set up for free at http://squidoo.com, http://wordpress.com or http://blogger.com. This can take the form of a review of the product, a comparison with other similar products or simply an article with a strong push as to why you should buy the product. Squeeze page design is a science in itself and there is no such thing as a wonder page that works for every product. Experimentation is the name of the game here and constant testing and tweaking is required to get optimal results.
3) Traffic.
Now that you have your product to promote and your squeeze page setup you are going to need traffic. Getting traffic can be one of the hardest parts of how to start a online business, especially if we don't have any money to spend. Article directories are good sources of traffic once quality, unique, keyword focused material is submitted. Blog and forum posting are also good sources of targeted free traffic. The search engines are the grand daddy of all free traffic sources but in order to rank high in them careful SEO is going to have to be carried out on your site.
4) Wash, rinse and repeat.
When your first site starts to make a profit you are going to want to move quick. Make a note of everything that worked successfully in your first site and immediately repeat the process for a new product. You should have enough money now to buy your own domain and hosting and this should help even further you online business and profits. You now know how to start a online business, so get out there and start earning money.
