If you have decided that you want to make the leap from "employee" to "entrepreneur" you're probably very excited. And you should be, there are a myriad of benefits that come with being your own boss. Principle among them the ability to pay yourself FIRST and the government last. But you might be wondering how to come up with small home business ideas.

If so, my advice first is to stop, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Now that you're calm, consider what you enjoy doing the most as a start.

For instance if you do a lot of surfing online, or you play a particular online game, you could use the love of that game to come up with your own expert tips, write an ebook and sell it to your fellow players. Similarly, you could find out what the most troubling aspect of a particular level is, and put out an ebook solving that particular problem.

If your usage is more general, say, you have a blog (an online journal) or you find that you enjoy writing, you can very easily offer your services to those that market online. There is always a need for good writers and as your reputation grows, so will your pocketbook. The key here is not to "pigeon hole" yourself into any one niche, instead be able to write on a broad spectrum of topics.

But what if you're not that computer savvy? What then? Well, if you've got a flair for crafting, you can make and sell crafts at small shows or flea markets. One person I know, turned her stain glass hobby into a profitable business. This has allowed her to express her creativity with something she loves and get paid for it as well.

Similarly, if you're good at baking and cooking, you can turn that into a profitable business simply by using your cretivity, natural ingredients and flair for presentation. Again, selling at the local market is a great way to have a profitable, yet time flexible business.

One thing to remember here is to never let your business become just another job. Remember you started this from something you love! If you feel like it is becoming a grind remember you have the option to take a break. It should never feel like you're doing this because you have to, although sometimes it may. When this happens, take a break and do something else. Think back to why you enjoyed this in the first place. Soon, you will be reinvigorated, rejuvinated and ready to go once more.
