Are All Home Based Typing Jobs Scams?
If you've been looking online for a way to either supplement your income or replace it entirely, you could be forgiven for thinking two things: first, that there is a LOT of choice out there and second, that there are also a lot of scams as well. One thing you have probably come across are home based typing jobs.
These jobs promise easy riches for little to minimal time and effort. With a little common sense, you can see that most of these claims are specious at best. The problem is, these types of programs are very adept and making their claims seem plausible and use pretty graphics, down to earth, common language (i.e. you don't feel as though you're talked down to), and a sympathetic tone ("we know what you're going through") to get you to sign up for their "system." What most of these types of home based typing jobs fail to mention is that their system requires you to sign up to Google Adwords and incur advertising costs. This is done under the guise of posting ads for "reputable companies."
A twist that you may have seen are websites offering to help find you home based typing jobs by giving you access to a database of supposedly reputable and hungry companies just looking for people to work with. The catch here of course is that you either pay a one time high fee ($200 is not uncommon) or you pay a monthly subscription fee. Again, look for graphics of smiling happy people, plenty of testimonials (which can and often are faked) and very high income claims.
So, what do you look for when trying to figure out if home based typing jobs are scams? First off, ignore any income claims made, as no one, regardless of the program can guarantee a specific amount. Any amount you may make is dependent on your discipline, marketing know how and hard work.
Second, you should NEVER have to pay for a job. If the home based typing jobs you are considering really were interested in your success (as opposed to just your subscription fee), you would have free access to their database of companies. Any site that wants you to pay upfront for a job is one to avoid. Also, be very sure of contact info for refunds.
That being said, where can you find legitimate home based typing jobs? First of all, do a search for work at home forums as there are several reputable ones out there. Next, consider that legitimate sites will have you go through an interview process to ascertain where you fit and if they are a good fit for you. And they will never charge you to bid on jobs. The legitimate sites will pair you up with a manager whose job it is to act as a liason between you and the client. You will have a set schedule as to when you get paid, typically every two weeks, much like a regular job.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, when considering home based typing jobs, always "trust your gut." If it feels too good to be true then it probably is!
